The Royal Albert Bridge
also could the Brunel Bridge. The bridge was
designed by Isambard from 1855 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel for
the Cornwall Railway Company . which connects Plymouth in Devon to
Saltash in Cornwall spanning the River Tamar carrying the Great
Western Main Line in and out of Cornwall. The bridge
was made with two main spans of 455 feet, and seventeen smaller spans and
is 100 feet above the Tamar The bridge was nearly four
years building and finally opened on May 2nd 1859 by Prince
Albert Brunel died in the same year as the bridge was opened.
