| Rail Hot Spots - A True Train Watching Experience This programme begins at Elford Loop in Staffordshire where a variety of both freight and passenger trains can be seen. The location sports a loop which provides excellent viewing for the study of both locomotives and rolling stock. This section will also provide you with a few surprises! Moving north to Barnetby, this location must rank as a top hot spot for the pure freight enthusiast. We visited three locations in this area for non-stop rail action. We filmed the Class 56 hard at work together with Class 60s and 66s in wonderful afternoon sunshine. Filmed on separate days, Linslade on the four track section of the West Coast Mainline sees a considerable amount of both freight and passenger trains including the celebrated Class 86s and 87s plus Virgins newly introduced Class 390 Pendolinos. Also in this section you see the illusive Scotts sleeper and a Class 37 deputising for a Class 66 on a stone working. All this and much, much more. DVD . Price £13.99

| Fenland Trains - The Railways of East Anglia We begin this DVD with an extensive look at the railways in the counties of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire; in particular, the city of Ely and its surrounding railway routes. Filmed between 2000 and 2004 we concentrate mainly on the freight scene in these areas. The freight in both counties are mainly aggregate, intermodel, and deep sea container workings. Locomotive classes hauling these trains consist of 37, 47, 56, 57, 58, 60 and, of course, the ubiquitous class 66. In addition to these freight workings we see the newly introduced ONE (formerly Anglia Railways) Train Operating Company seen in the summer of 2004. With the lowering of the Ipswich tunnel, diesel hauled passenger trains en route to London Liverpool Street were diverted through Ely. Both Anglia and ONE liveries can be seen with scenes of Elys magnificent cathedral. Moving a little east, we filmed at various locations between Ely and Bury St Edmunds, and finally we trek north across the flat lands of the Fens with its many unobstructed locations. Many freightliners can be seen bringing lots of colour to a somewhat barren landscape. Special trains such as steam and diesel in the form of Class 55 Deltics and Class 47s can also be seen in and around the Ely area, with no fewer than 30 locations visited. With detailed location maps it all adds up to a fascinating and intensive programme. Some narration is added together with train details and head codes. Also in this DVD is a short pictorial of what else Ely has to offer other than great train locations. DVD . Price £13.99

The Heyday of British Steam. The West Midlands - The North - The North West
Video technology came too late to record the golden
years of Britains railways during the steam era, but thanks to a
handful of cameramen armed with 8mm cine cameras, many images of the
Iron Horse have been saved for posterity. This series
is a collection of some of those shots and Part IV covers the West
Midlands and the North of England. We begin at Gloucester where
the diminutive former G.W.R. 0-4-2 tank engines were still working push and pull trains. From Gloucester we head to the
western suburbs of Birmingham via the famous Lickey Incline where
heavyweight expresses could be seen struggling with the 1 in 37
gradient. A look at Wolverhamptons Low Level Station before it
closed, is followed by a journey to Manchester via Stoke on Trent, Crewe
and Stockport. After Manchester we cross the Pennines and end our
journey at Sheffields Victoria Station where Directors 04s and K Class moguls were still hard at
work. All the shots, taken in the 1950s and 1960s, are totally
original and are in full colour with sound track and commentary.
